AI Readiness Index — Agent & Crawler Guide

This index lists websites checked by the IdealBusinessCheck crawler. Each entry is one automated scan. Use it to determine whether a site exposes its content and purpose in a way AI assistants and agents can reliably read and trust.

How to query

• JSON — GET /ai-index.json — CORS open, Cache-Control: max-age=60
• Markdown — GET /ai-index.md — plain text, same data, suitable for LLM context windows
• Both return: generated_at, count, and a ranked array of sites
• This page also returns Markdown when requested with Accept: text/markdown

Filters

• market — ISO 3166-1 country, comma-separated, e.g. ?market=DE or ?market=DE,AT
• language — ISO 639-1 site language, e.g. ?language=es; also matches sites whose country is not stated
• locale — shorthand, e.g. ?locale=de-AT
• level — ready | partly_ready | not_ready
• limit — top N after filtering, e.g. ?limit=10
• Ranks are recomputed within a filter: rank 1 is the most ready site for that market. Example: /ai-index.json?market=DE&level=ready&limit=10
• coverage in the JSON shows how many sites each market and language has

Fields per site

• domain — root domain, no scheme, no www prefix
• rank — position in the index; rank 1 = most ready; ties share a rank
• level — "ready" | "partly_ready" | "not_ready"
• checks_passed / checks_determined — checks with a clear pass result, out of checks with any clear result; checks with an unknown outcome are excluded from both numbers
• markets / languages — countries and languages the site serves, from its own homepage (language tags, same-site hreflang, currency, country domain); a site serving several markets appears under each
• platform — detected CMS or e-commerce platform, or null if not identified
• checked_at — ISO 8601 timestamp of the most recent automated check

How to interpret results

• Results are automated, not editorial. A not_ready result means the automated checks found issues at that point in time — it is not a permanent or human judgment.
• Unknown is never treated as fail. Only checks with a clear pass or fail outcome are counted. Checks that could not be determined are excluded.
• The checked_at timestamp shows when the data was gathered. Re-checks happen when a site owner runs the free check again.
• The index covers the site's technical readiness for AI discovery — not its product quality, trustworthiness, or editorial content.

Trust and provenance

• Crawler identity: IdealBusinessCheck/1.0 (+https://idealbusiness.ai/bot)
• The crawler respects robots.txt and identifies itself. Sites can opt out by blocking the user-agent.
• Every site checked on idealbusiness.ai is added to this index per the terms of use.

• Full audit reports, recommendations and check details are private — not published here.
• Product catalogue and content data are planned for a future version.
